Extension to Existing Dwelling & addition of Sunroom, Elrick, Aberdeenshire, 2008
With a growing new family the client in Elrick required additional first floor space for bedrooms and larger washroom facilities. The upper level was extended across the existing garage to provide this extra room.
The Ground Floor kitchen area was redesigned to become a modern, open plan, cooking, dining & living space, with a fully opening bi-folding door system to maximise the use of the garden. The Glazed Sunroom facade utilises solar gain to heat the entire open plan space and can be opened out to become an outdoor space whilst providing natural cooling. In addition, the new insulated walls and zinc roof minimise heat loss in the colder months of the year.
