Demolition of Existing Croft House & Erection of New Dwelling, Sands, Gairloch, 2009
Having recently received planning permission, this is a project for a 3 bedroom family home in the North West of Scotland. The existing ruin is to be demolished and the existing stone to be re-used externally and internally providing a modern approach whilst being sensitive to this historic rural area.
The construction is to be not only by sustainable means but also to provide a house with high energy efficiency incorporating; fully insulated wall & roof system, ground source heat pump technology, solar gain, wind turbine and water recycling. Despite the exposed location of the site, the house will provide a snug environment with low cost heating bills.
