Drydykes

The clients project brief for Drydykes  was for the design of a new build family dwelling and the erection of a spacious workshop/garage on the site. 

 

The dwelling is to be located on the north edge of Bieldside, a residential suburb of Aberdeen.

​

This dwelling has been designed in an angular H-Plan formation compromising a 2-storey section and a single-story portion of equal length connected by a small glazed link section. The design of the dwelling is unashamedly modern while incorporating many features and details that provide a relation back to the historic local vernacular. The dwelling comprises of a select natural palette of materials which are both long lasting and familiar to the region.
