Extensions and alterations to existing dwelling
Fiddes Architects were appointed to design a contemporary 2 storey extension providing additional living area and quality open plan living spaces to the existing family home.
An A-symmetrical pitched roof design allowed a balcony off the master bedroom to slice through the angled form whilst providing double height space to the main living area below bringing natural light flooding in through roof windows.
2 natural principal materials were carefully chosen for the scheme, standing seam zinc roofing with integrated hidden gutters and Scottish Larch clad walls using an open rain-screen profile. Large areas of glazing take full advantage of the stunning views and aspect with sliding stacking glazed doors bringing the outside in, when Scottish weather permits.
