Located on the north side of the Feugh Valley, stood a redundant traditional Scottish Byre constructed of local granite stonework and a rusted corrugated iron roof.

By demolishing the original Byre but carefully surveying the existing form and stonework the building was re-designed to maintain a memory of what was there whilst making the new garage fit for purpose in both specification and size.

The traditional form was kept with the stonework elements broken up by using Scottish Larch cladding and aluclad windows. The garage became a focal point for the newly landscaped lower garden area subservient to the main steading conversion family dwelling.
